Pottery made on Monhegan Island. Inspired by a life ten miles out sea.
There's a potter on Monhegan! Making pottery on Monhegan has its challenges. The mail boat only delivers freight three times per week in the winter. Freight is very expensive, and wet clay comes in fifty pound boxes. Weather cancellations are not uncommon. Electricity rates are some of the highest in the nation. The potter must plan ahead and be well prepared. Every piece is lovingly hand made on Monhegan, inspired by the natural beauty of an island life ten miles out to sea. Here you can view a sample of recently sold mugs. I am very excited to announce that Winter Works is open on Monhegan! Make sure to visit the shop this Memorial Day week-end to see my recent pottery release! Open next Keep checking back because there's lots more to follow!
